It’s Friday, so a light thought for today. I found this link yesterday to pictures that will restore your faith in humanity. I am not sure these pictures really do that, but they do show people treating others with respect and that’s it a good thing. The one set that really stood out to me are the pictures of the shepherds rescuing their sheep from the ocean. There are so many connotations for us in this set of pictures.
But what I think about is this parable that Jesus told.
4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. Luke 15
and then I look back at that picture and this about the Christ, the good shepherd, reaching in to the ocean and saving us, he beloved sheep.
Do the same today.
