Recently, I was listening to some guy speak about singing the Psalms and how the current generation doesn’t do that very much. It was a pretty interesting comment and so I have been on the lookout ever since. Last night I heard someone read Psalm 95 out loud and could tell the entire time that he was struggling to simply read it without bursting into song.
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.
3 For the Lord is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land. Psalm 95
I am not convinced yet that we don’t sing the Psalms as often as we used to. I am still observing that trend, however, I bet you have a hard time not singing Psalm 95 to yourself today, at least for a few minutes!!!
Go ahead, he made it!
