LongSuffering

Here’s a passage I am thinking about today as I stroll through my business day dealing with people and events and the world around me.  It’s pretty solid advice from a pretty good book..

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Ephesians 4:2 KJV

I love that word longsuffering, but since we don’t use it much in this modern era, here’s another way to think about the same thing.

Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. NLT

Something that Will Live

Here’s an interesting thought I stumbled on over the weekend.  It’s sobering, but yet inspiring.

We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.

As you spend your day today, think about your goals, think about how you are using the life you have.  Are your goals created as if your were living forever, or if you building for something greater?

And in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.” Genesis 22:18 ESV

Keep It Up

Getting back to the theme of the year, here is a great quote to remind us to be about the business of doing.

Determine never to be idle. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing. – Thomas Jefferson

Anyone …must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need. (Ephesians 4:28 NIV)

Thankful?

Two years ago, I post this video about struggling and thankfulness.  Today feels like a day when that video should be posted again.  Take a look….

Watchmen

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. (Psalm 130:5, 6 NIV)
