Day of Awesomeness

Awesome!

That’s right because today is the International Day of Awesomeness, and that is just, well you know – Awesome!

On this day, be awesome and let some one else know how awesome they are.  Tell them about their awesome words, or their awesome thoughts, or maybe the awesome way they do the awesome thing they do.  Awesome!

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV)

And then be awesome yourself.

Awesome!

Thursday

My travel schedule is limiting my ‘share time’ this morning.

Here us some words from the Master that are good to contemplate. How do you look at those around you? And how do you respond ?

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. (Matthew 9:36 NIV)

On Jefferson and Knowledge

Yesterday I was able to visit the home of Thomas Jefferson. It’s an impressive house on a beautiful hill. The contents highlight Jefferson genius and his continued search for knowledge.
Later in the evening as I was sitting around with the other parents on the trip my friend Sam pointed out that the YouVersion verse of the day was very appropriate considering the location we had just visited.

“This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ (Jeremiah 33:2, 3 NIV)

And of course , Sam, another man full of all sorts of knowledge, was correct.

Jefferson did some pretty incredible things and had some very neat gadgets in his home. But with all of his knowledge and skill he still was searching and still had tons of things he did not know. That’s a humbling thought. The Creator knows all of these things, which is even more humbling.

Let us remember the greatness of the God we serve and always be calling to him for more understanding.

Onward

Today is one one the greatest days of activity on the calendar, because the calendar is actually calling you to action!

It’s March Fourth!

Today is actually called March Forth and Do Something Day. It’s also Pancake Day, so you might want to run over to IHOP, on this Shrove Tuesday, which is also Unique Name Day.

But I digress. It’s a day where the day itself calls you to action and teases you to get started on some project. Maybe that note you have not sent? The phone call, the longstanding project, the unfinished task? Whatever it is do it today!

As for me I decided to jump on a bus with thirty something junior high girls and forty something guys to check out our nation’s Capital. What are you doing today?

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:10, 11 NIV)

Listen to Him

March is such a crazy month, its weather, its basketball, its inventive daily celebrations.  For instance this week, March Madness starts, a winter storm is covering half of the country, it’s Mardi Gras week and it’s Celebrate Your Name Week, among tons of other crazy  stuff. Today is also Fun Facts About Names Day, so go learn a fun fact about your name.  If you are a follow of the Christ, you may want to look at this name list and check out all the names that the Christ was called. Well, all the positive ones!

I found this one extremely interesting today. I think it is because it is a little mad, has a weather element and makes a pretty bold celebratory statement:

5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”  Matthew 17:5 (NIV)

I guess if the Creator of the World actually said this, maybe we should listen to his son.
Oh and speaking of the Son of God, if you are heading out to see the recently released movie, you may want to download this free ebook, which includes ‘the complete NIV text of Luke and Acts, along with photos from the movie’  Or maybe encourage others to check it out?
