Keeping the Covenant

This is a faithful saying to help you stay focused as the week gets going.  Is so good to know that we have a Lord that is faithful and delivers on promises.

9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.  Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIV)

Wonderful news

This needs no further commentary from me . It speaks for itself. Remember this and have an awesome day.

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— (Ephesians 2:1-3, 5-8 NIV)

Football is Suspended

This is a pretty amazing story that I think you need to read. I am very impressed to see a coach put character in front of winning football games. This is a great but of encouragement for today.

Blizzard of inspiration

As a follow up to yesterday’s post, here is a great story from Minnesota.

http://bigstory.ap.org/article/minnesota-dq-managers-good-deed-gets-attention

That’s pretty cool. It sort if makes me want to buy a Blizzard. However truth be told, It doesn’t take much for me to want a Blizzard, so maybe that’s not the best reaction. Seriously though, that’s great behavior. I hope it inspires you today to look for places where you can make a difference in the lives of those around you.

Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Do it!

rule of thumb

“Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Add up God’s Law and Prophets and this is what you get. (Matthew 7:12 MSG)
