Today is the first of July, and unfortunately it’s a day that many new state and federal laws take effect. Interestingly enough Kentucky in lifted its ban on drinking on Election day. That might not be such a good idea. If you recall, one of the major Hatfield and McCoy incidents occurred because of some drinking on a Kentucky election day.
More importantly for us today is that a long time ago the Creator put some new laws in effect, releasing us from the bonds of the very structured Jewish laws and ushering a period of living free by the spirit.
6 But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. Romans 7:6.
That’s great news! and a law change that is something to be thankful for.
