Today’s special. It’s the only Wednesday July 3, 2013 that will ever be!
Make it one that will be remembered!
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
Use that power today!
Today’s special. It’s the only Wednesday July 3, 2013 that will ever be!
Make it one that will be remembered!
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
Use that power today!
I have had this song cycling in my head yesterday and this morning.
That’s a catchy little tune to keep you focus on the right things.
Be strong and courageous each and every day.
“‘Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.’ Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, ‘Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their forefathers to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.'” Deuteronomy 31:6-8
Wow, I just realized that I failed to publish my post from yesterday! I thought I hit that blue button on my editor, but it appeared I didn’t. Sorry about that, I hope your yesterday was still ok without a bit of encouragement. The Buffet continues and today you may just see two thoughts because of that little error on my part.
And that second thought will circulate around a song I heard this morning from Matthew West called Strong Enough. It’s a catchy little number that reminds of us of these great word from Paul that are found in his letter to the Philippians.
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 New International Version (NIV)
The song reminds us that we don’t have to be strong enough, that our strength comes from the Christ.
Be Strong today – just remember where you power actually is coming from!
I refreshed my knowledge of this great gem in Paul’s letter to Timothy this morning.
7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 1 Timothy
Wouldn’t it be great if we could just read that, and boom, we had power, love and self-discipline? And why is it that we seem to want to favor timidity instead of boldness?
As you go about your day today, think about how different your life could be if you trusted the spirit and let go of the timid nature and grasp the power, living full of love and discipline?
It’s the beginning of the week. What fears, anxieties and apprehensions are you facing this week that are weighing you down? As you expose them, think about these promises from Psalm 27 (NIV)
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?7Hear my voice when I call, Lord;
be merciful to me and answer me.14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
Be Strong, take heart, and let go of those fears and anxieties that control you.
