Use Today

Oh today,  today is here, and today will be full of well todayness.

Isn’t that great!

We can attack it and pour out our cup on others around us with no worries about tomorrow. Tomorrow, when it gets here, will offer us  new opportunities and a another great chance to pour out our cup.

but Today!  It’s here.

Lets use it, and not be anxious and worry about what may come.

33 Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well. 34So don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will have its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:33-34New Century Version (NCV)

Little Things

Sometime ago I wrote about the impact of random acts of kindness and how that really impacts people. I come across this little thought last night and found it a good reminder. It is just small enough that you can stick it in your mind and let it rummage around there all day.

What would be different if we lived like we really believed that small actions can make a big difference?

Sort of reminds me of this:

Those who give one of these little ones a cup of cold water because they are my followers will truly get their reward.” (Matthew 10:42 NCV)

Lay it Down

Sometimes as a believer you just have to go back to the words on the Savior himself.

If people want to follow me, they must give up the things they want. They must be willing even to give up their lives to follow me. 25 Those who want to save their lives will give up true life, and those who give up their lives for me will have true life. 26 It is worthless to have the whole world if they lose their souls. They could never pay enough to buy back their souls.” Matthew 16:24-26

So what do you need to lay down, and walk away from, so that you can truly follow Him?

No So With You

It’s Monday and well.. what else can be said? 🙂

I am thinking about something the Christ said to his close knit group of followers when they ask him about granting them positions of power and authority.

He responded to them this way.

25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:25-28 New International Version (NIV)

hm, that’s seems so wrong to our culture.  So backwards?  Become a servant?  Keep that in mind as you deal with the many people ( or not so many when it comes to me) that you come in contact with today.( and every day!)  May this be said about you: “Not so with you!”

Free Queso Day

Seriously!! Queso for FREE!!!

Only today at Qdoba. That’s pretty cool, I may have to load up at lunch. I mean who doesn’t like Queso and who doesn’t like free!

Speaking of great free stuff check this out

What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. (1 Corinthians 2:12 NIV)

That’s probably a better free combo then even Queso!

And then don’t forget these words from the book of Matthew:

Freely you have received, freely give. Matthew 10:18 KJV

Today give out what you received for free! No, I am not talking about Queso, but feel free to share that as well. Give what people love in you and give it for free! (plus a side of mercy and grace)
