‘Merica!

It’s Independence Day!  Let’s shoot off some fireworks, eat hot dogs and celebrate our freedoms in the great land that we live in!

I am very glad to live in a country where personal freedoms and liberty are valued, but here’s a small suggestion to make sure you are also considering how you use those liberties every day.

23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Enjoy the day, celebrate our land, and find ways to edify those around you!

Wow, my mornings this week have been a little busy as I have been spending time getting my house in order after a month of construction. But now I am almost back to an organized and settled place. During all of this I have been thinking about those wise words from Solomon, words that explains so very clearly that our life is in constant change with ebbs and flows.  Take advantage of the time that you are in right now.

There is a time for everything,
    and a season for every activity under the heavens:

2     a time to be born and a time to die,
    a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3     a time to kill and a time to heal,
    a time to tear down and a time to build,
4     a time to weep and a time to laugh,
    a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5     a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
    a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6     a time to search and a time to give up,
    a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7     a time to tear and a time to mend,
    a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8     a time to love and a time to hate,
    a time for war and a time for peace.

Sorry about my June Swoon and the decrease in posts over the last few weeks.  Part of it was planned and part of it was just well, what it was.  But anyway,here it is the last day of June and Summer is in full tilt.  It’s a great time of year as everything is blooming and basting in the glory of the sun.  Which reminds we of these words from 2 Corinthians.

18 And we all, who with unveiled faces reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

 

Here is some crazy math I was studying this morning.

Jesus + Nothing = Everything

This is a life changing formula when we believe it to be true.

There’s really nothing else we need.

Here’s a small bit of advice that goes a long way.

Walk with the wise and become wise,
    for a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20

Make sure you mind your path today and watch who you are walking with.  The wise will help you, the fools will eventually surround you with harm!
