Whose Plan?

I attended my sons soccer banquet last night , which usually involves long talks from the coaches about the kids and the kids acting like well high school boys .   For a parent, it is usually an exercise in patience as you battle being present in the moment against all the other things you could/should be doing!
But one thing the coaches kept saying last night has stuck with me over night and even into today.   Over and over throughout the night they continued to hammer the idea of God having a plan for each of the players and for the team as a whole.   Now, I am not sure of the exact theology of God having a plan for a high school soccer team, but then again,  I am not God either!  I can say with much more certainty that the Creator does have a plan for each one of us.  Our trick is to let go of our plan and let Him lead us.

The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way;  Psalm 32:8 ESV

June?

Hello June!

And Hello Monday!

I can hardly believe it is June, but hey, Summer’s here, and that gives us more sunlight to find ways to praise. As the Psalmist says

“From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised.” Psalms 113:3

Let’s do it!

unsettled

I have like 5 draft posts sitting around waiting for my mind to settle and reach some form of conclusion.  In the meantime y’all get a whole lot of silence, which I do apologize for.
I have had a lot of change and a lot of things taking a lot of my time over the last few months, and frankly, my mind is unsettled!   I really think I should be back I a rhythm soon!

And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭2‬ AMP)

Btw, I think using the word frankly is so funny,  that’s why I added it in above!

His Wounds

Here’s a little song for Friday.  It’s a great remake of a classic hymn.

I am especially drawn this this stanza.

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

What a great reminder of our state, both damned and saved, as we head into the weekend!

How Deep is that Love!

Demolish

I wrote last week about ‘rooted’ being my word of the year, however,  right now I seem ‘focused’ on focus.  It seems however, that a large part of being rooted and strong is being focused and  demolishing all the junk going on around us!

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” 2 Cor 10:5

So today,  demolish the junk in the way that keeps your thoughts and actions focused on the task at hand — obedience to the Christ!
