Oh its the ides of March, a day which we all should historically fear. Well, I guess that’s only if you are an emperor and have a group of friends that are not so loyal.
Anyway it is interesting that we don’t use the word ides very much any more.
Maybe that’s because are language is changing, or maybe we don’t care about the Romans, or maybe our days are so fast that we don’t count the middle of the month any longer, just like we don’t count fortnights very often.
But anyway, beware today, not of man with knives, but of other things that are of more importance.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:8 KJV
