I was late yesterday as the day got out in front of me. Today I went looking for a reminder of where I should have my focus during the day. This is a pretty good one :
“Seek, inquire of and for the Lord, and crave Him and His strength (His might and inflexibility to temptation); seek and require His face and His presence [continually] evermore.”

Or in a more modern language
“Search for the LORD and for his strength; continually seek him.”

I had to venture out to the DMV today to renew my drivers license. I have had a license in this state for over two decades, and one would think the state would know my identity. Alas, they acted like they did not and I had to represent my identity again to the state, proving that I am who I said I am with a plethora of documents and dollars!
Isn’t it a good thing that our true identity doesn’t come from a document?

I am not sure I can provide any clearer direction or target for today then this from the pen of Paul.
For we live by faith, not by sight. … So we make it our goal to please him, 2 Cor 5:7,9a NIV

Here’s a bit of instruction in a letter written a long time ago that applies to us today as we go in and out of the marketplace, dealing with others.
17Warn the rich people of this world not to be proud or to trust in wealth that is easily lost. Tell them to have faith in God, who is rich and blesses us with everything we need to enjoy life. 18Instruct them to do as many good deeds as they can and to help everyone. Remind the rich to be generous and share what they have. 19This will lay a solid foundation for the future, so they will know what true life is like. 1 Tim 6:17-19 CEV
So let’s see:
Have faith + enjoy your blessings + help others + do good + be generous + share = true life.
