It’s Time to Fight Dirty

FightDirty_Twitter_COVER_04

Today is a day when we recognize one of most precious resources on the planet — Water.  We use it to live, we use it to clean, we use to play, we use it for energy and its a key part of our salvation! When it’s clean and healthy it is a really important part of each of your days!

Today on World Water Day, it’s time to appreciate water.  And a time to remember those who live in places where water is hard to come by or is contaminated.

It’s just a key part of life that the biblical references to water are pretty outstanding themselves.

So today, take a moment, as your drink the fresh water that is around you in such a plentiful supply, to be thankful for what you have.  And if you want, join in the many groups that are fighting for water.  Groups like Charity:water, who has announced their #FightDirty campaign today.  Or Healing Hands, and it’s Walk 4 Water program.

Share  this resource, this key to life, because that’s what people who have the living water do!

37On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.‘”

And yes, we share both physical and spiritual living water!

Spring Splendor

Here’s a little thought for the first Monday of Spring:

Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon. There the LORD will display his glory, the splendor of our God. Isaiah 35:2

Romans Road

It’s Friday, lets head down the Romans Road…

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2

Leprechauns and Lorica

On this St Patrick’s Day, I was looking for some quotes from the man.  Something to consider besides just wearing green, acting Irish and getting drunk! ( and Leprechauns)!

I found several versions of a poem that is attributed to St Patrick.  There’s this poem out there called St Patrick’s Lorica or “Breastplate”. I discovered multiple translations and no real authoritative source, although this may be the closest!.  Although none were the same, they all had the same basic message of Christ in all things.  Like this:

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

or this

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me,
Christ in the eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me.

That’s a perfect mediation to help us focus on the thing that should drive all of our activities!

Light

I often think when I don’t have any content I should not write.  Today is one of those days.  But then I remember that I have access to the most wonderful story every told and that provides all the content that I really ever need.  so..

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5
