Dried Bones

Lately I have learned a lot about control and well, the lack of it.  The good thing is that there are several things that I can always control.  One of those is my attitude – same for you.  So today, regardless of the situation I find myself in, I can choose to tackle it with optimism and positivity.  Or I can choose to be a defeatist.  It’s my choice, no matter the situation.

Today, I will choose to be positive – and why not, I mean it’s good medicine!

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22 ESV

Translation

I meant to add this yesterday, but I was on the run and forget. the text in the video translate roughly to this

Any action can be the most gracious, if there is no self-interest.
Do the good deeds!

So, why not two days in a row – do the needful! Do the good deeds.

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14

Dash Cams

Over time we have all viewed the dash cam videos of horrific crashes and arrests and drive-bys. Here is something different to get you day going. Check out the video here. It’s a compilation from Russia of citizens helping others- all caught on dash cams. Now, if you are like me it takes you a few moments to get past the question of why so many people are driving around with cameras on there dash! But once you get past that, you see great examples of people helping each other with really no though of payment and in lots of times at the cost of putting themselves in harm’s way.

I hope that gives you a little motivation today to be a lifter, and to help those around you!

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 New International Version (NIV)

When you

I was recently browsing the sermon of Jesus in Matthew 6, and thought it was interesting that he started this particular section by saying “when you do ‘acts of righteousness'”.   It was not “if you do”, or when you talk about doing, but when you do!  There’s an obvious expectation from this guy that we will do.  He goes on to mention giving, fasting and praying and sets up a whole different set of guidelines to follow when you do those things.

So interesting that he obviously expects that we will be doers!

How about you?

5-4

May the fourth be with you today!!

With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort. (1 Corinthians 15:58 MSG)
