March14R Squared

There’s no way around this, I have to mention that today is Pi Day! You know 3.14 etc.  To celebrate you should take a look back at Pi Days from yore here as there are some great facts and information embedded in those posts. You will even find the Daily Buffet’s own mathematical formula for success.

And shoot, we should also look forward, as next year’s Pi day will be awesome, as we will be able to celebrate with so much more accuracy.

3.141592653

Do you see that?  3/14/15 9:26:53  Yes, for two seconds next year math people will be hysterical.

Speaking of circles as we ride this one around another time, let us stop and remember the One who set all of this in motion, and even created those fascinating laws of mathematics.

21 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, Isaiah 40:21-22

Oh and one bit of math more, the marble count for 2014 – 11 out, 41 to go!

Doing = Well Done!

I know I share tweets from Rick Atchley often, but he creates some gems. So I’ll start this last day of February with this, I think it aligns with what I have written about very well.

And since it is the end/start of another month, it seems proper to revisit the verse of the year. This time from the Easy to Read Version

22 Do what God’s teaching says; don’t just listen and do nothing. When you only sit and listen, you are fooling yourselves.  James 1:22 (ERV)

So continue to do on your way to well done!

Oh, and our counters – 9 out, 43 to go!

One Mind and One Voice

I love this verse in Romans.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:5, 6 NIV)

I love it because it describes our vision and goal as follows of Christ and then also provides a strategy of how to do it. Realize that along with endurance and encouragement, the Creator will give you the ability to view other people the same way that the Christ did!  Wow, just imagine how we could impact the world with if we walked around with those eyes?

This prayer from the writer of Romans is a great way to start the weekend.  I hope you find encouragement from it as you get ready to spend that eighth marble. ( 44 weeks left in 2014)

Look out for others, in the same way the Christ Jesus did, and may this weekend bring glory to Him.

45

20140215-004321.jpg

Oh I was so caught up in the magic of Valentines day, I forgot to remind you that there are 45 weekends left! I hope you got this one off to rip roaring start. I am spending my marble investing in the future by spending the weekend with 70 teenagers!! Yeah!

And here is something to encourage you on this Saturday.

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him, (Philippians 1:27-29 NIV)

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

I am so excited, today is Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor Day!  What a great motivator to make sure we take a positive action towards our neighbors.  (Oh, you might want to remind yourself of the  who that is!)

Speaking of something that motivates, take a look at this. This is my dad.  No, not the little guy with the scarf, but the other one.

And this is my mom. Yes, the one in white. No the tall one!

MomSnowman

Yep, that’s my parents out playing in the snow.  My parents, who should we say automatically qualify for certain discounts at certain restaurants. This week 8 inches of snow and cold temperatures came their way.  They could have just waited inside by the nice warm fireplace, however, they  found a way to turn this ‘hardship’ into some good fun and action.  It’s just a snowman you might say (and a clean driveway!)  But to me, and I hope to you as well, it was a great reminder to keep on going, to keep looking for bright spots and to find ways to ‘do’ even when conditions are not perfect.

It was also a great way to spend those few precious days that we are given on this Earth, making memories and impacting others.  So lets bring on the weekend, and the celebration of Man Day on Sunday! It’s the end of the 6th week (46 to go!),  beat the winter doldrums and make it count!

31 The hoary head is a crown of glory; It shall be found in the way of righteousness.  Proverbs 16:31 (ASV)
