Use It!

Faithful readers of this little spot on the internet know that I shared short pithy sayings quite often. Today will be no exception!

I saw this last week

The person who refuses to read holds little advantage over the one who cannot read.

It’s a bit of a brain teaser, but wow is it true, not only in reading, but in so many walks of life.   If we have skills and talents, but refuse to put them into practice, then we are really no better than the person who doesn’t have that skill.  Knowledge is great, but knowledge put into practice allows great things to occur!

Sound familiar?  How about this

22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22-25 (NIV)

and this

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully Romans 12 NIV

Use what you have been given today!
